This is the method of making a good septic tank and the true characteristics of a healthy home
The septic tank is a tub for accommodating wastewater discharged from the toilet (water closet), the septic tank construction is sealed with brick cubicles, and above it is covered with a concrete plate equipped with a control cover and given a T air pipe with a diameter of ø1½ “, so that there is air oxygen into the septic tank which aims to make germs productive so that the germs become the destroyer of dirt – dirt or urine that enters the reservoir.
Why are germs allowed to be productive?
Germs in septic tanks are used to destroy dirt/feces in storage tanks.
Usefulness and use of a Septic Tank is to collect wastewater & amp; the process of destroying the impurities that enter, this wastewater will flow into a seepage/infiltration well which is not far from the septic tank, as well as the placement of the septic tank not very far from the toilet (water closet)
Septic tank planning
The things that need to be considered in the proper planning and construction of a septic tank are as follows:
1. Septic tank
Can be used individually or together (communally) with up to 5 (5) houses, if using infiltration wells/infiltration fields it depends on the availability of land, if it is used for consumption of more than 5 (5) houses, the required infiltration area will require a fairly large area, in order to cope with the need for this large area, a filter has been built to take over for infiltration fields. Made in a place that makes it easy to try draining
Dimensions and volume are only affected by:
Number of users and planned drain time
Assumption of the amount of human waste/year that enters and is treated by the septic tank. The dimensions and volume of the septic tank are not influenced by soil type, soil absorption energy, or groundwater level. Water that comes out of the septic tank still has to be treated in the field of infiltration, absorption wells, or filters.
2. Infiltration Field / Infiltration Well
Things that need to be considered in making a good septic tank!
Construction and dimensions depend on the amount of groundwater level and soil type
Distance from clean water sources
Only used for services up to 5 houses
3. Dirty water infiltration/seepage;
Seepage is a hole adjacent to the septic tank, the benefit of which is to get the flow of wastewater from the septic tank. The seepage construction consists of a coating of various materials from sand, on top of which a palm fiber is attached, after which gravel or split is attached to the palm fiber on top of it, given a companion of hollow rock, given a palm fiber again and sand again and so on, which needs to be observed around the hole with palm fiber.
The 2½ “paralonø pipe which is inside the seepage is given holes to facilitate the spread of the wastewater flowing from the septic tank to the seepage. If you want to install a pump well or a jet pump so that it is installed more than 10m ‘. from the placement of septic tanks and seepage, to avoid infiltration of wastewater from seepage.
4. Control Tub
The control tub is a small tub that is installed between the companions of the dirty water channel, the benefit of being a controller every time if the dirty water channel is obstructed or there is a pool of water that we do not want. The control tub uses a cover made of the cast – cast concrete, equipped with an iron handle for opening.
The bottom of the control tub must be deeper than the bottom of the existing sewer so that the entwined sediments are easy to clean. Placement of the control tub is also placed on the cover of the septic tank on the side so that the controller is also able to input the wastewater suction hose in the septic tank.
The septic tank only accepts toilet/spices waste, does not create residual water (bathing and washing)
Draining of the septic tank is attempted every 3 years successively
Do not dispose of risky chemicals into the septic tank, such as insecticides, carbolic floor cleaners, bleaching clothes.
The sewage sludge that results from draining the septic tank is still a risk to humans and the area, draining should be attempted by a person/officer who has complete drainage equipment.
The sludge resulting from draining may not be disposed of into the river, or in an open place, but must be disposed of in a place that has been planned to accommodate the poses mud (for example, the Passes Mud Treatment Plant / IPLT).
